Our world is still suffering the wrath of the Covid outbreak. Recently things were starting to feel normal and everyone was enjoying the sports tournaments being organized in areas that overcame the outbreak. However, England had to change the whole squad because some staff and players were infected by the delta variant of the virus.

Now it has also impacted India vs Sri Lanka series. Instead of starting on 13th July, it has been postponed. The series would start on 17th July four days later than the scheduled date. The cases have suddenly started increasing in the Island country which is why the organizers decided to push the matches away.

During these last couple of years, all we are trying to do is cope with the impact. With a hope that everything would be normal and be the same as earlier but the virus does not appear to have any calm. The Lankan players have remained in quarantine hopefully they are all negative.
After the team of England found positive for the virus it was speculated that the Sri Lankan team might also be positive. Although the batting coach Grant Flower and a few members tested positive. None of the players has tested positive for the virus.
Now BCCI is feared that Indian players might catch the virus as well. That is why they decided to postpone the matches to new dates to maintain the quarantine norms.
According to the new schedule, the first match will be played on 17th July, the second match will be played on 19th July and 21 July is saved for the third ODI. All three T20s would be surmised according to the postponed dates. Yet suggested dates are 24 July, 25 July, and 27 July for the first, second, and third T20s respectively.
