Saqlain Mushtaq explains the importance of spinners

In a recent interview, Saqlain Mushtaq opined about various aspects that can earn a victory for teams in the upcoming T20 World Cup. He gave an essential extract over the part that spinners might play in the game in fields of UAE. Also explained the differences Indian and Pakistani teams have.

He said that teams need to focus on their spinners because they would perform very adequately on the floor of UAE. The factor that the fields there would be dry might give spinners a chance to achieve their magic.

Therefore countries should invest in their spinners for the 20 over format tournament. He has been advocating the use of off-spinners in his mentoring and guiding career. He also said that good coaches are required at the domestic as well as at the junior level. He also noted that Australia has invested in Nathan Lyon, which benefitted the country and the player himself.

Giving an example for India, he took the name of R. Ashwin, and for England, he remembered Moeen Ali. Later he started on the differences that India and Pakistan face while getting experience. He said when he was spending his summers overseas, he saw India touring countries like Australia and England.

He noted that these tours help Indian players play against the best players and play in the best possible terrains. While Pakistan, on the other hand, does not get many chances like that. He admitted that India’s prime is under 19 players and India A players with these excellent tours. This strategy of investing in young players gives India a choice to have experienced players in the country’s leading team.
