The Covid pandemic is not over yet and we can see its impact on the upcoming tournament. The players, as well as the staff of team England, were found positive for the delta variant of the virus. Therefore now England needs to form a new team with healthy players.

A new squad will be formed and all the players who were closely in contact have been kept in quarantine. As the old team and staff became captive in quarantine new members for the team as well as staff are being searched.

England Cricket Board has declared that only 3 players and 4 staff members were found positive. But due to the contagious rate of the virus, all team members are bound to follow the quarantine norms. The new team has already been decided. We can say that it gave a chance to players to get involved in an international-level tournament.
It is decided that Ben Stokes will lead the team which has to face Pakistan on 8th July for the first time in the series. This would be the first time for Stokes to enter the internationals after being injured in the Indian Premier League. Other players like Zak Crawley and Brydon Carse will be accompanying him.
Various players are uncapped and the ECB said they are happy to get a chance to perform in an international level tournament. It is hoped that a few players can return from quarantine for the three days T20 series with Pakistan.
In the final words, the ECB thanked the players and the counties they belong to for coming forward and joining the team. Furthermore, they added that they feel delighted to be able to form the new squad to face Pakistan on such short notice.
